9 Thursdays Until Christmas ~ Paterned Paper Ornaments

Hi, Sweet Friends!

There are only 9 Thursdays Until Christmas! For some of you, this is no trouble and you never may give it a thought until this week of Christmas.
However, many of you are looking at these weeks before Chrismas and making your decorations, creating gifts, and making foods to freeze, can, and give away. It is a busy time in our house from August to Christmas!
This is the 8 of 16 posts will be on making Patterned Paper Ornaments.
You will need to have a few things before you start this project.

 #9 Patterned Paper Ornaments
Supplies:

Printed paper in five patterns that go well together. (I used these dress forms from a Sewing Themed Patterned Papers by K&Company, LLC)
Brown cardstock (I found this at JoAnn's  as a pack of paper)
scissors
clear drying glue, like "Elmer's" glue stick
glue stick
string or twine
string, this one is from JoAnn's
ink pads (Cocoa & Desert Sand) optional

The inks I am using are from Close To My Heart, in Cocoa & Desert Sand.
White buttons (1 for each ornament)
* Another idea is to make ornaments in a theme with each backed with the brown cardstock. The theme could be anything you want, or find a patterned scrapbooking paper that you like and use each cut out as an ornament.
Directions:
 1. Begin by cutting out the shapes for your ornaments. I used 6(3 of each kind) dressforms. You can use the shape you desire from the patterned paper you choose. Ideas
 * Try toys, trees, vintage items, or silloettes for fun ornaments.
 2. Cut 6 pieces of twine/string 3" long.
2.  Lay the cut outs on the brown cardstock. Put 1 piece of twine/string in a loop at the top of the paper cut out, as shown above. Glue the twine/string with Elmer's Glue.
  3. Glue the twine/string in the middle of the cut outs top back. Glue the cut outs to the brown card stock with the glue stick. (this is the easiest way to do this project. )
4. When the glue is dry, cut out the shape, being careful not to cut off the loop of twine/string.
5.  Ink the cutouts in the Desert Sand all over the fronts, like shown above. Edge the cut outs in Cocoa Ink.

5. Add embellishments to the cutouts, like these tiny buttons, with glue stick.

Now they are ready to hang on the Christmas Tree!
