10 Thursdays Until Christmas ~ Heart Garland

Hi, Sweet Friends!

There are only 10 Thursdays Until Christmas! For some of you, this is no trouble and you never may give it a thought until this week of Christmas.
However, many of you are looking at these weeks before Christmas and making your decorations, creating gifts, and making foods to freeze, can, and give away. It is a busy time in our house from August to Christmas!
This is the 7th of 16 posts will be on making a Heart Garland.
You will need to have a few things before you start this project.

 #7 Paper Heart Garland
Supplies:
Heart shape ( I drew a heart, cut it out and used it for my pattern)
Heart cutouts on Scrapbook Paper or heart stamps
Red Ink pad (if using heart stamps)
White or cream card-stock
scissors
Skewer or Large Needle (for piercing the paper hearts) Red Yarn ink pads (Cocoa & Desert Sand) optional * Another idea is to use other shapes besides hearts for the garland. Be creative and have fun!

The inks I am using are from Close To My Heart, in Cocoa & Desert Sand.
Directions:
  1.  Begin by cutting out the heart patterns from the paper or stamping the hearts with the red ink onto the cream or white card-stock; 23 total hearts.
  2. Cut out stamped hearts; 23 total hearts.
3. Pierce the heart tops, where the top curves are, with a skewer or large needle. The large needle will come in handy when treading the hearts onto the yarn.
4. Ink the hearts in the Desert Sand or edge the circles in Cocoa Ink. Either ink looks very nice.
5. Use the needle to thread the red yarn through each heart, as shown.

6. Thread all 23 hearts on the yarn. It is better to thread the hearts and position them on the yarn before cutting the yarn piece off the skein.
7. Tie a loop at each end of the garland in the yarn. You will hang the garland from these loops. Take the middle heart and loop it over a branch for a drooping garland.

Now the garland is ready to hang on the Christmas Tree! Repeat process above if you desire more garlands.
