16 Creative Day Thursdays Before Christmas ~ Paper Mitten Ornaments

Hi, Sweet Friends!

There is only 16 Thursdays Until Christmas! For some of you, this is no trouble and you never may give it a thought until this week of Christmas.

However, many of you are looking at these weeks before Christmas and making your decorations, creating gifts, and making foods to freeze, can, and give away. It is a busy time in our house from August to Christmas!

This first of 16 posts will be on making Paper Mittens.

You will need to have a few things before you start this project.

#1 Paper Mitten Ornaments

Supplies:

A printed copy of the glove pattern(I do have this in a PDF file upon request. Leave a message in the comments below and I will send it to you via email.)
Print off 2 per 8x10 page.

Colored paper in two patterns that go well together. (Dark Green & Dark Red) & Patterned paper to use for the cuff.
Mini Clothes Pins (crafts store)
scissors
glue stick
string or twine
ink pads (Cocoa & Desert Sand) optional
* Another idea is to hang the mittens on a long piece of string or twine for a banner on the hearth or shelf.

The inks I am using are from Close To My Heart, in Cocoa & Desert Sand.

Directions:

Begin by cutting out the pattern of the mitten & cuff.
Cut 6 of mitts(3Red & 3Green, 6 total).Cut 6 cuffs in pattern paper.

3. Make stacks with the cuff & mits together.

4. Ink the mitts & cuffs in the Desert Sand all over the birds like shown above. Edge ink the mitts & cuffs in Cocoa.

5. Gluestick the edge of the mitt across the straight part.

6. Attach the cuff that matches the color of the mitt.

7. Cut all the lengths of the string/twine the same length. 6 pieces in total. Tie each of the 6 pieces in a loop.

8. Attach a loop of strings/twine, at the top of all 6 mittens, in the corner with a mini clothes pin. Now they are ready to hang on the Christmas Tree!
