Christmas Hanging Baskets ~ Creative Day Thursday's Before Christmas 2020

Hi, Sweet Friends,

We had beautiful weather and enjoyed a long drive to the mountains.

We live in an area of Colorado that has Mesas and not Mountains. We really enjoy driving up to the mountains for photoshoots, rock collecting, Picnics, and foraging.

MAD Hubby and I went for a drive up in the Cimmaron Forest in Colorado, foraging in the forest!

We found some seed pod sticks that were really pretty. These were in little clumps around the lake area.

We found Red-Twig Dogwood surrounded by snow! So beautiful!

We drove from Montrose East to the Cimmaron Forest.
The road goes on and we see deer, chipmunks (ground squirrels), and many birds.
The photos don't really show the vividness of the area. But it is still lovely.
Old fences line the road of many Ranches.

The mountains are so massive.

We enjoyed the road trip! I hope you liked it, too. Now on to making the hanging baskets with the fun materials we foraged.

As we absolutely love the creative Christmas Hanging Baskets for the front porch during the Holidays.
Here is what I made for the front porch!

The planters were pretty simple. In all three, I used pine (Pinion Pine), red sticks (Red-twig Dogwood), red seed stems (A, scrub sage, and large California Redwood pine cones.

We live in a desert climate, so I have to water them in. And will do so daily, so they don't dry out and lose their needles and seeds. I think it was a fun and creative day! However, Rurik and I need a nap. 😊🐕 We collected lots of things from the trip foraging🌲and even saw some deer;🦌🦌 a young buck and a doe.

*** This post is from last year and I was unable to get it posted till 2020. It is still a fun post and I hope you enjoy making things for your own home from foraged items and reused planters for the Holidays~ :D
