We Have Lift Off...

Hi, Sweet Friends,

This is an awesome event! If you did not catch the space flight, Kennedy Space Center in Florida, live, I have some pics here of the live feed I took with my camera. It was so exciting!

" The launch on Saturday, which occurred at 3:22 p.m. EDT, was attempt two. The first attempt to launch was scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, but was postponed due to lightning worries, which could have threatened the safety of the astronauts." - https://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/spacex-nasa-complete

 This event was the first manned space flight since 2011. I have to say, this was so cool having cameras inside of the capsule!

While many of us, 'Apolo Kids', we're glued to the screen watching and waiting like when we were kids, the nation waited patiently for the astronauts to take off after weather scrubbed the first flight date. 
As history was being made, my heart raced with anticipation while Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken were strapped into their seats in the capsule on the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, and the engines were ignited.

At T- 00:02:56, in the photo of the live feed above, I could almost feel the rumble of the rocket engines. These memories flooded back like movies replaying in my head. The last lift-off I remember was when I was visiting my Grandparents in Titusville, FLA and the whole house shook on lift-off! Windows, knick-knacks, and the china hutch raddled in delight!

This nose cone is a sleek new design and will carry Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken to the International Space Station.

Then the count down... 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and we have liftoff!

The first stage is away and will return back to Earth.

This first stage will come down to Earth on an unmanned drone platform in the ocean.
