Sky Watching Summer And Winter Solstice With a New Moon And A Solar Eclipse

Hi, Sweet Friends,

We enjoy Sky Watching and like to get the telescope out for some, however, we also like to just sit on the porch and watch Meteor Showers.
This year, 2020, there will be many neat sky events to see. I found this calendar of events for the year on SeaSky.org.
to Sky Watch on Space.com.
On June 20th, 2020  The Summer Solstice occurs! Mark your calendars. This is the first day of Summer for the Northern Hemisphere. The Winter Solstice, the first day of Winter, will occur for the Southern Hemisphere.

On June 21st, 2020  The New Moon! Mark your calendars. A great time to view star clusters and galaxies because of the light of the moon not being bright in the night sky. This is a great time to get out and look toward the heavens!

Also on June 21st, 2020  Annular Solar Eclipse! Mark your calendars. The moon will completely cover the sun resulting in a ring of light around the darkened moon. Central Africa, Saudi Arabia, India, and parts of China will be able to see this event. Partial Eclipse can be seen in East Africa, the Middle East, and the Southern parts of Asia.

This is a busy month of Sky Watching!
Be sure to look ahead to other postings for Sky Watching Events!

Enjoy!
