Easy Kid-Friendly Spaghetti Meatballs and Baked Squash
Hi, Sweet Friends!
I had Granddaughter #1 in the kitchen today and she made us a delicious plate of Spaghetti Meatballs with a side of Baked Yellow Squash. She loves to cook but said she likes baking the most. This is a Kid-Friendly Recipe. There are few ingredients and it can be made in 30 minutes.
Recipe For Meatballs:
1 lb hamburger
1 14-16oz jar of Tomato Sauce (choose one of your favorites)
4 plum tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasonings (optional)
1 package of Spaghetti Noodles
1 large saucepan of water (about 6-cups of water)
Recipe For Squash:
1 Whole Squash per person
Garlic Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Parmesan Cheese
Olive Oil for drizzling

Recipe For Meatballs:
1 lb hamburger
- Make golf ball-sized meatballs in the palms of your hands.
- Place the meatballs on a cookie sheet/oven-safe pan.
- Turn the oven on to 350degrees F.
- Place the sheet/pan into the oven.
- Bake the meatballs for 15-20 minutes total.
- Turn the meatballs over at 10 minutes.
- Remove and cut 1 meatball in half to check for doneness.
- Set aside until sauce and noodles are done.
1 14-16oz jar of Tomato Sauce (choose one of your favorites)
4 plum tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasonings (optional)
- Open the jar of tomato sauce and pour it into a saucepan.
- Turn on the burner under the pan to medium/medium-low.
- Cover the pan with a lid.
- With a paring knife, cut out the core and slice off the flowered end of the tomatoes.
- Wash the tomatoes.
- Use a cutting board to largely dice the tomatoes.
- Open the lid and put the diced tomatoes into the sauce.
- Cover the pan and let the sauce cook. 20 minutes.
- Season with 1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning, if desired.
- Leave in the pan until the noodles are ready to serve.
1 package of Spaghetti Noodles
1 large saucepan of water (about 6-cups of water)
- Place the saucepan on the stovetop.
- Turn the heat to high.
- Bring the water to a boil.
- Add the Spaghetti Noodles to the boiling water.
- Stir until the noodles are submerged in the water.
- Turn down the heat to medium.
- Cook the noodles for 7-10 minutes or until soft and done in the middle.
- Drain noodles in a colander in the sink.
- Rinse noodles in cold water.
- Serve with tongs onto the plates.
- Top the noodles with the sauce above.
Recipe For Squash:
1 Whole Squash per person
Garlic Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Parmesan Cheese
Olive Oil for drizzling
- Preheat the oven to 350degrees.
- Wash the squash and pat them dry.
- Slice of both ends of the squash.
- Slice the squash in half lengthwise.
- Lay each squash half seed side up on a cookie sheet.
- Drizzle each squash with Olive Oil.
- Sprinkle garlic salt and pepper on the squash.
- Top with a sprinkle of Parmesan Cheese.
- Place the cookie sheet into the oven.
- Let it cook for 10-20 minutes or until soft.
- Remove from oven and serve.
