Homemade Egg Noodles ~ Chef Carie Partin

Chef Carie here to teach you how to make your own homemade egg noodles from! What are the difference in egg noodles and pasta noodles?

Egg noodles originated in China & Japan and pasta noodles are Italian for one difference.
Egg noodles are generally flat and thin or like the German Noodle flat and thicker strips. While pasta comes in many different shapes and sizes.
"Egg noodles are made of unleavened dough that is cooked in boiling water. Generally, egg noodles are made with eggs and wheat, or rice flour. Sometimes arrowroot or tapioca starches are added to enhance the texture and uniformity of the strands. In most cases, the egg noodle batter is made and allowed to dry for a period of time, before actually using them to prepare a specific dish.
Pasta is also made of unleavened semolina dough, of either wheat or buckwheat, that is cooked in boiling water, and, in some cases, vegetables are added to the dough." ~ Difference Between

Homemade Egg Noodles
*NOTE*
I used a pasta maker to thin my dough. I then folded my sheet of dough (with flour dusted on both sides) in the middle on one side and over that on the other side. Cut my 3/4 inch strips, unfolded the strips carefully and sprinkled with flour to help separate the noodles.

2 cups all-purpose flour
3 large eggs
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
