Spring is a time of rebirth. On the farm, the chickens are laying again, the lambs are lambing, and the spare time off is short. There are so many things to get done in the garden. March in the West is iffy at best. We can have a frosty am, followed by beautiful sunny noon, where afternoon winds came blowing the snow in. Yesterday, I had on shorts at 11 am and by 3pm I was in long pants and a jacket.
The snow had flown in and started to cover the driveway.
This is a great idea for a raised bed and privacy fence in a small garden or lot. Here they have Hollyhocks, Marigolds, Silver Creeper, Echinatia in purple and white, Purple Lupin, more Red Hollyhocks, Russian Sage, and on the fencing are Red Morning Glories. Pots at each end are planted with Marigolds and add interest with depth.

For our Spring this year will be up in the air, so to speak, due to a move to another home. I'll be filling all the empty pots with seed and doing container gardens until we are settled. I have collected the pots, cleaned them, and packed them with the dirt/compost mix in the container boxes. We will be pulling them up and cleaning them before the move. We have lots of compost to turn and get ready to add to the large barrels. I found a few Garden Planners online that I am going to look into this week to plan my garden.
