Madeleines ~ 12 Days of Christmas Cookies

Hi, Sweet Friends,

We are baking Madeleines today!
Madeleines are a light cake cookie baked in a mold or shaped cookie tray that keeps the cookie shape. 

Madeleines are a French Cookie that has its origins from 

Madeleine is served for special occasions. We are making these light cake cookies for Christmas! They are so delicious!
Hubby used a recipe from The Ktchn.com

 Makes 24 madeleines

French Madeleines
Ingredients:

• 4 oz (1 stick), plus 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
• 2/3 cup white sugar
• 1 cup all-purpose flour, plus 1 tablespoon, divided
• 2 large eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• Pinch of salt
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• 1 tablespoon lemon zest
• Powdered sugar (optional)

Directions:
We followed the directions here.
*Tips:

• Keep the Madeleine mold in the freezer until you use it.

• Coat it well with cold butter.

•  Refrigerate the dough as directed.
  
• Watch the timer so the Madeleines don't brown. (Our edges are a bit browner than we would like)
• Add sugar or powdered sugar at the very end. (optional)
