6 Easy Gift Wrapping Tutorials

Hi, Sweet Friends,

Sometimes, wrapping presents can be stressful. I learned while I was in high school at the J.C. Penny store gift wrapping department. 

But, before you send something that is fabric, clothes, or you have fur babies like we do,

  

it is great to take a piece of clear packaging tape to the gift free of pet hair.

Take a piece of clear packaging tape about the width of 3 fingers,  

doubled. Fold it together with the sticky side out and wrap it around your fingers.

Tutorial #1. Wrapping Placemats & Napkins:

It looks so nice and is ready to be wrapped up!

To wrap these placemats, fold them in half after tacking taping them clean.

Place the napkins on top and measure out a double piece of wrapping paper.

Fold up the ends and tape the ends closed.

Fold-down the edges of the paper over the gift as shown above. Crease the edges.

Fold up the corner like an ear. Crease the edge.

Repeat the process for all four corners.

Fold up the end and crease.

Fold up the flap you just made and tape the corners shut.

Do the same for the other end.

Fold up and tape.

Flip the package over and add some ribbon, string, or decoration. Don't forget the tag!

Tutorial #2. Wrapping something small like these pocket knives, place them in a gift bag.

Place the gift in the bag and cinch middle. Tie with string or bow knot.

Jute twine makes a nice rustic look and add a tag or decoration to make it more personal.

These stamped tags are a nice touch. I made these with CTMH stamps & pads. I added Calligraphy for the names.

Tie a slip of ribbon on the tag to finish it off!

"December 25th" and "Don't Open Till Christmas" are just a couple of ideas for the tags!

Tutorial #3. Wrapping Odd Shaped Items:

For these little girl fans, place the fan on the paper and cut 3x's as large as the fan.

Folding the wrapping paper and creasing it is a good way to mark the paper before cutting it.

Fold the paper over the item as shown above. Hold the paper closed and tape it in the center.

Fold the ends to a point.

Fold up the point and tape it closed.

After taping both ends of the gift, flip it over and embellish it.

Before and after.

Tie it up with jute twine.

Add a cute tag to personalize the gift.

Or use tiny bead string embellishments to made the gift a bit fancy.

Gather up the tags for easy attaching.

Wrapping a small gift box.

This little charm can be wrapped up pretty.

Tutorial #4. Wrapping A Small Box:

Cut the wrapping paper 3x's the width of the box. Place the box long ways on the paper.

Place the box at one end of the paper and fold the paper over the box so there is a bit that will hang over the edge. Crease along the edges as shown.

Wrap the paper around the box and tape in the middle as shown.

Pinch all four edges to secure the paper and make a nice crease.

Fold-down the edges of the paper like shown. Crease the edge to secure the paper.

Pinch the corners as shown above.

Fold in the pinched corners like shown. Makes a dog ear.

Flip the box on its end, but don't worry about taping that end just yet. Fold-down the edge and repeat the same way to the other end.

Fold-down both sides and press with fingers to a point.

Fold over the point and tape shut.

Flip the box over and tape the other end.

Finish taping the ends closed.

I tied on these bead strings as the final trim.

Tutorial #5. Wrapping a picture frame.

Cut the paper 3x's the size of the frame to be wrapped.

Fold up one end and crease the paper like it shows in the photo above.

Fold over the other paper side and tape the center. Crease the sides.

As in the other directions above, fold the ends like dog ear corners. Press or crease the ends, fold up and tape the corner edges. Repeat on both ends.

Tie up with string or ribbon. Center and lay the ribbon on the front side of the package, face down.

Twist the ends in the middle and bring around the other edges.

Bring the string/ribbon, around to the front and tie in a knot.

Add little ornaments and the tag.

Trim the ends of the twine/ribbon.

Tutorial #6. Wrapping Clothing Without A Box:

I cut the number of pieces of paper as per the outfits I have to wrap.

I black out the price but leave on the tags. Fold the shirt over the pants or skirt.

Tuck the clothing on top of each other as shown above.

Fold over one end. Crease edges.

Tape in the center of the package.

Fold up the edges like dog ears and crease the edges.

Tape up the ends. Now do the next packages the same way.

Fold the ends like dog ears.

Tape up the ends. Now do the next packages the same way.

After I wrap the packages, I tape them together in the middle.

Stack and wrap the stack with twine or ribbon and place on the tag.

If the item comes with a hanger like this one, remove the hanger, fold up the clothing and wrap like above.

Wrap up with the string or ribbon. Add a bobble or two and the tag.
