Classic Yellow Cake ~ Friday Foods

Hi, Sweet Friends,
Today we are making a yellow cake from scratch. I have added the choice of a Buttercream Frosting or a Chocolate Buttercream Frosting. I love both and MAD Hubby prefers the Chocolate Buttercream version. That being said, you get to choose! YAY!

Classic Yellow Cake

Ingredients

Directions:

1. In a large bowl place the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

2. Whisk the dry ingredients until blended.

3. In a separate bowl, add the butter, sugar, vanilla, eggs, and milk.

4. Mix together the wet ingredients until blended.

5. With an electric mixer or by hand, slowly blend the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients a bit at a time. (I use a dry measure cup and just pour into the dry ingredients one cup at a time)

6. Mix on medium for 2 minutes or until it is all incorporated into a smooth batter.

7. Line two round baking pans with parchment paper.

8. Pour the cake batter evenly into the two pans.

9. Bake at   for

10. Use a toothpick to check the cakes are done in the middle. The toothpick will come out clean when the cakes are cooked completely.

11. Cool the cakes in the pan for 3 minutes.

12. Turn the cakes out onto a cooling rack.

13. Make the frosting while the cakes are cooling.
