This is the 5th week of the 16 weeks before Christmas and we will be making Easy Christmas vests for Dogs or Cats. I will be showing photos of how I have made mine!🥰
Simplicity Pattern #9520 a multi-sized pattern for your dog.
The back of the pattern has vital information about the material appropriate for the pattern, the amount of fabric needed

Ok, here is where the New Sewers start and the Experienced Sewers get on with the project.

**Saves much frustration!
3. After checking one more time, count all the pieces to make sure you have them all laid out to cut.
Cut them out. At the notches (the small triangles or double triangles in black) cut them a little large and cut them outwards away from the pattern.
4. Ok, now that all the material is cut out to the correct size needed for your dog/cat, DON'T UNPIN YET. Find the pattern pieces that are on the instructions of what you are to sew first. It is important that you follow the pattern instructions. If you get frustrated or confused, just take a break and come back to it.
5. Before sewing the pieces with the right sides together according to the pattern instructions, repin the material so the pins are able to be pulled out to the right.
Here is a photo of what I mean by this. **Pinning this way makes for easy pin pulling before the stitch. **I then have a velcroed pincushion on top of my machine where the pins are stuck when sewing.

** place the velcro sticky piece onto the machine close to the outer edge as shown. |

**Place the sticky loop piece on the bottom of the pincushion as shown. |
6. Sew as the pattern instructs. Don't skip steps.
7. Try on pieces to ensure proper fit. Rurik loves this part!

8. Stitch the seams at 1/4inches. I am using a fleece material that does not require a double folded seam. A single seam will do.

Hem the pieces at 1/4 seams. |
Here is an amusing video of just how much Rurik loves having me make clothes for him. He is such a character! 🐕Or View this video on YouTube below.
Well, still working.
I added more aprons to my schedule and have put this off a week. But Rurik is anxious to have it to wear. The kittens will enjoy theirs on the cold winter nights to come.
