Well, today I wanted to share with you 6 pieces of wisdom from the Billionaire Warren Buffet.
I have followed him for years and just read an article from Make it that had these 6 topics I wanted to share with you!
1. On Marriage:
He says to marry the right person. Well, who is the right person? Is there such a thing? I think so! It took me 3 x's but I have married the right person.
The right person is one whom you respect, is the kind of person you would like to be, and one who is moving you in the right direction.
2. Self Investing:
He says that taking care of your body and mind are the best things you can do for yourself. Starting when you are young ensures good habits when you are old.
"By far the best investment you can make is in yourself."
Warren Buffet, Berkshire Hathaway CEO3. Your Associates:
Who you associate with will be one of the best things you can do. Associate with those that are better than you are gives you the aspiration to become better yourself.
4. Work For Those You Admire:
Working for people that you admire will enable you to learn the traits you want for yourself. This may not be your "Dream Job", but it will give you skills for life.
5. Ignoring the Economists:
Most don't make a lot on the Stock Market and others listen to them, "...I have a little trouble with that." Markets are uncertain.
6. Money isn't Your Success Measure:
“The incredible thing about love is that you can’t get rid of it. If you try to give it away, you end up with twice as much, but if you try to hold onto it, it disappears. It is an extraordinary situation, where the people who just absolutely push it out, get it back tenfold.” Warren Buffet, 2008When unconditional love is given from those around you, then you are richly rewarded in a way that can't be bought with money. The Bible says, "Love your neighbor as yourself."
In my humble opinion, these are sound bits of wisdom!
Mark 12:30-31 New International Version (NIV)
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[a] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] There is no commandment greater than these.”
