Christmas Eve For Couples

Hi, Sweet Friends,

I came across this awesome article on "Somewhat Simple," by Stephanie, and really liked these ideas. I have a few more ideas to add to her list.

Stephanie's List:
  • Ornament Exchange
  • Handwritten Letters
  • Movie in Bed
  • Kitchen Festivities
  •  Predictions
See the full description of the list on Somewhat Simple HERE.
My Hubby and I have found several other ideas that work well for the Couple's Christmas Eve List.

CJ's List: Stephanies Plus...
  • Stockings. My Parents open their stockings as their "Special" gift on Christmas Eve. They fill each other's stockings with small and memorable gifts. These gifts don't have to cost a lot or fill the stocking in one gift. Ideas: candy, chocolates, small trinket, jewelry, watch, flashlight, lipstick, chapstick, mints, or sleep eye mask.
  • Hot Cocoa & Christmas Music. We have a favorite Hot Cocoa Recipe HERE that we make on special occasions and on cold Winter nights.
  • Christmas Memories. Take this quiet time to share some of your best childhood Christmas memories. Funny ones are good to share, too!
  • Christmas Light Viewing. We do this every Christmas Eve and grab a thermos of Hot Cocoa and big blankets. We take a trip around the town and see all the Christmas Lights. Each house, buildings, and Main Streets are decorated differently and we enjoy this cozy time together. We do take our dogs, too!
  • Making & Eating Cookies. We love cookies and what a fun time it is to be in the kitchen and making our favorite batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies on Christmas Eve. We do eat them; more of them than we should, but that is for the New Year's Resolution, RIGHT?
  • Board Game. We enjoy a good board game! One of our best friends is a "Board Game Connoisseur" who looks for old and unusual board games. This is a fun way to spend an evening.
Now, you may not be "Empty Nester's" as we are, but take some special time for your partner this Christmas Eve. You will be glad you did! As each other's helpmate, we often forget those quiet special moments in our busy lives.

A Merry Christmas to You & Yours!
Enjoy!
