Hi, Sweet Friends,
We took our annual June jaunt up to Ouray, Colorado. The weather was perfect, as you can see in the photos. A gorgeous day for photographing just about anything!
I was able to get closer to the buildings this year, fewer tourists (us included!) than in past trips.

The businesses all have a fresh coat of paint on them and the flowers are just coming out. The nights are still cold up here in the mountains of Colorado and we noticed the beautiful hanging baskets were not up yet.

This is the Ouray Brewery and it is a great place to grab a bite to eat! We like the Portabella Mushroom Wrap and the Hot Fresh Pretzels with box canyon brown cheese dip. Yummy~ And they have really cool rooftop dining! The views are quite spectacular!

The Gingerbread on these buildings is so detailed and they are all painted in the Painted Lady style of the late 1800's to early 1900's. LINK

The Gingerbread archetechural moulding and trim work on these buildings is quite amazing. This is the building. It was built in 18.

Duckett's Market has been a longstanding Shop in the town.

Many of the old houses have become businesses, restaurants, and multi-residential.

Rockin R shop is a delightful place to find unique gifts and souvenirs.

This is the first time I have ever seen yellow Columbine so vibrant! Columbine is the State Flowere of Colorado.

The umbrellas here on this patio give the building a bit of color. The petunias play off nicely in the decorative planters.

The copper archway above the building, here, has aged to a turquoise patina shows off the golden schulpture on top.

The arches, pinacles, and the moulding on each of these beauties is perfect. There is a gold statue atop the highest point on the Beaumont.

The details in the wood working on these buildings is so intricate and beautiful! Each one stands on it's own, but connected in a complimentaryway with the other buildings on Main Street. |

On the PC, this sign has been enlarged, however, the cellular phone has squished it down considerably. This sign shows the town buidling as they were in 18 and then again in 18. Many of the building fronts have been changed with the times, but the charm of this historical town, in Ouray, Colorado is quite the look into the past.
This year, as in every year prior, Mouse's Chocolate is an all time favorite!
