Rurik is HERE! ~ My New Service Animal
Hi, Sweet Friends,
This is a very special posting and I usually don't post two a day, however, this being said...
We bring such good news! Rurick is Coming to us!
This has been a much-anticipated arrival and the journey has been long, but the end result is Adorable!
This is the first photo we received from Eric of Rurik. He is just 6 weeks old in this photo. He's so CUTE!
Since Rurik is now old enough to fly, Rurik will be flying tomorrow. He catches his flight at an early 8am in the morning.
He will arrive here in Montrose, Colorado! We are so excited!
We went Rurik Puppy Shopping and he should be all set to move in!
He has a new bed with a nice fluffy blanket.
He has a new raised bowl for food and water.
He has some puppy trainer pads.
He has a new toy "stuffie", as the Grands call them.
He has a new toy basket that is metal and not chewable.
He has a few treats, trainer treats, and some chewies.
Rurik was fed a strict diet of chicken. We raise chickens and this won't work for our egg ministry. So, Rurik will be eating a non-grain dog food. We will start him off with chicken but will change to another type to give him variety. Rurik's brothers and sisters will be show dogs. So their diet is quite different than that of a Service Animal. I have to say, we will probably spoil him awful! ;)
We fed Raider the brand pure balance and this is what we will be feeding RU.

UPDATE: RU is on the way...
Eric the breeder wrote this am:
"He's been processed thru United Cargo and will be loaded on the plane shortly. He was relaxing in his crate when they wheeled him out. Let me know when you have him please, Eric. "
Oh my gosh! It is so close now!!!
He has landed in Denver!!
-----------------------------------------------------------
We are at the Airport!
We are home and ready to get our first shower... a bit shy.
Rurik did very well in his first shower! What a good boy!
RU is all clean and ready for his Blow Dry!
RU was so good that he got a Denta Treat!
He's so fluffy!
When we need to keep RU in a safe place, he pops into his kennel. I had to mop up some "accidents" and this nice big crate came in very handy! RU doesn't seem to mind the crate. But he likes being out of it and with us the best!
This is a quick video of where RU decided to take his first night sleep.
The first few days have gone very well. RU has adjusted quite well. He is working on potty training and general commands.
It is such a joy to have a new Service Animal. This one is a lovie, just like Raider On The Go was!
Enjoy,
