Delicious Slow Cooker Beef Stew





Hi Sweet Friends,

It's Friday and we are cooking up a Delicious Beef Stew in the Slow Cooker.  Here is a "Cheat Sheet" from Slow Cookers For Dummies. This is very good information for anyone that cooks with a Slow Cooker or Crock Pot.
Delicious Slow Cooker Beef Stew
Ingredients:
  • 4 to 5lb Beef Roast
  • 2 packets Swanson Flavor Boost
  • 1tbs dried Parsley
  • 1/2 tsp dried Thyme
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • 4 ribs Celery/1/2 cup Dehydrated Celery,
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1pkg Peeled Baby Carrots, whole
  • 1 Red Onion, largely chopped

Meat will be seared on all sides in a large pan. Transfer the meat to a cutting board and slice the meat against the grain. The meat then should be cut into even, bite-sized pieces, so that they cook evenly at the same time.
Place cubed meat into the Slow Cooker.

While the meat is Browning, put the celery and and water into a bowl or pot to absorb the water. Set aside.


Open and wash the Baby Carrots.
Peel and chop the Red Onion.
Add the water and celery, spices, onions, and the Flavor Boost into the Slow Cooker.



Peel and wash the potatoes.Cut the potatoes into cubed pieces. Add to the Slow Cooker. Cover and cook until the meat and potatoes are fork tender. Or at least 6 to 8 hours on low.
This stew improves the longer it stews. So put it on when you head off to work and it will be ready to eat when you get home!
