Ribbon Graced Christmas Balls

Hi Sweet Friends,

We hung ribbon on the Christmas balls this year to add a touch of whimsy around the house. This DIY is easy and can be used year after year!

What you will need: I used red
Christmas ball decorations, plastic, 1for each cabinet door.
2inch wide grosgrain ribbon, 10 yards
Straight pins
Package tape

Directions:

Cut the ribbon into several different lengths for various ball lengths. See above photo of the cabinets.
Cut one end of each ribbon at an angle. Slip ribbon cut point through the top of the ornament. It is easier to do this if the top is removed from the ball.
Turn the ribbon to the back of the longest side of the ribbon.
Using a straight pins, pin short ribbon tail in place.
Reattache the Christmas ball.
Add package tape on the front side of the ribbon. This will go over the top of the cabinet door and adhear to the inside of the door. Make sure that ribbon is centered on the door.
Cut ribbon to a point.
For ornaments with glued on tops, just hold the ball when slipping the ribbon through the top.
It should be pulled through with a tail to pin down.
With a straight pins, pin the tail end to the long end of the ribbon. See photos.

Ribbon hung red glittered balls, from the Dollar Store at 10 balls for $1, grace the 1950's style cabinets in my much dated kitchen. However, these cabinets are made of solid wood and they still have the maker tag on the front of the cabinets. The pins, ribbon, and packing tape are from Walmart.

Hang Christmas Balls by ribbon in a large picture window, just like in the Large Department Stores!
I also hung multi sized Christmas balls onto thin silver satin ribbon with the same method as above. Add a few glittered snow flakes and your window will be festive and bright this Christmas Season! When the window blinds are open, it gives great curb appeal!
