The Best Homemade Salsa ~ Friday Food

Hi, Sweet Friends!
As Summer is winding into Fall, it is time to get our canning on! Our garden did not fair as well as we hoped. Just as many gardens in our location, the weather has been a big guessing game this season.
Since it is "Canning Season" around the Homestead, we are hitting up some of the local Farmer's Markets for great fresh produce. Our favorites inclued the abundant Olathe Sweet Corn, fresh from Olathe, Colorado http://olathesweetcornfest.com/ and Palisade Peaches, fresh from Palisades, Colorado http://visitpalisade.com/ .
We have been looking for a long time for a Homemade Salsa that is good canned. Finally, this is the one!

Start with the freshest vegetables and tomatoes you can get, if you are not growing them in your own home garden.
 Red and firm tomatoes.
Fresh and unblemished garlic.

Mel's Kitchen Cafe' is the place!  Find the step by step directions here: https://www.melskitchencafe.com/best-homemade-salsa/

Mel raves about this recipe and it is the one we made this year! Love it! You can decrease the intensity of the pepper flavor by adding mild peppers to this salsa recipe.
Hope you like this recipe as much as we do!
Enjoy!
