Hi, Sweet Friends!
Today is National S'mores Day! And who doesn't like that crunchy chocolate gooieness?
This traditional camping treat has come a long way and I found some great sources for you to try!

I know, in our house, I am the only one who enjoys this delectable messiness, but hey, that means more for me right??!!

So the history of this American camping tradition of eating S'mores is from http://www.smore4u.com/food/history-of-the-smore/
"It’s tricky to pinpoint the exact moment when someone stacked a fire-roasted marshmallow on top of a couple of squares of chocolate and sandwiched the pair between graham crackers, but we do know that after years of making word-of-mouth s’mores, someone finally published an official recipe in 1927 in the Girl Scout Handbook."
and who knew they had their own website! Around since the 19th century, these bites of sticky melting gooiness are one of my favorite camping memories. Now that we have camped with 4 generations of my family, S'mores are that late night, star gazing, campfire favorite in my family!

Better Homes & Gardens has a great link to 18 great ways to make a S'more. Check it out here: http://www.bhg.com/recipes/desserts/smores-galore/?utm_source=bhg-newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=dailyinspiration_081017&did=163901-20170810

I have to admit I never knew there was a day for the S'more, and if there is a day for this delicious easy dessert, how many other deliciousness days are out there? Sounds like a good thing to investigate, don't you think? YUMMY!

Enjoy!
