Beauty Tuesday ~ Hibiscus and Rosemary Hair Dye or Rinse

Hibiscus and Rosemary Hair Dye or Rinse

Red Hair Color Recipe

Ingredients: 3 tbsp Dried Hibiscus flowers, 3 tbsp Dried Rosemary leaves, 3 cups boiling water

Directions for Dye: Steep the flowers and leaves in 3 cups boiling water for 30 minutes. Strain the mixture and allow to cool. Apply to clean, damp hair with rubber gloves, place plastic cap on hair and allow to set for 30-45 minutes. Shampoo hair then condition as normal.

Directions for Rinse: Steep the flowers and leaves in 3 cups boiling water for 30 minutes. Strain the mixture and allow to cool. Apply to clean, damp hair in spray bottle with rubber gloves. Allow to set on hair till dried. Then style hair as usual (I sun dry my hair while pulling weeds in the garden or harvesting and in Winter, I sit by the blowing heater).

I love the smell of the Hibiscus flowers and the Rosemary so I like to leave mine in as a rinse and just wash it out later in the evening. *Note: this is just of highlights. Do it often for redder effect and it works well with brown or dark hair. ** Hibiscus will stain. Use an old towel or wear an old shirt as it will stain the item and your hands, so use rubber gloves.

Enjoy!
God Bless!
