Valentine Good Read Suggestions

Hi, Sweet Friends,
Valentine's Day is a wonderful day to curl up with a treasured old novel.

A few authors:
Charlotte Bronte
Emily Bronte
Margaret Mitchell
Jane Austin

This Valentine's Day what about picking up one of those historically time-tested, Love Novels?
I have read all of these books and love them! Some of these books will make you laugh and cry. Then you may even cry and then laugh again. Some of them will touch your heart in ways that you could not imagine. Some of them will make you think about how life used to be in the past.  And some of these books make you forget about your life, for just a little while and transport you back to another place and another time.

Pride & Prejudice, by Jane Austen, is a witty comedy on manners, friendships, and love. This story is one of my favorites by Jane Austen! I must admit, I secretly am in love with the gentler side of Mr. Darcy! LOL

Mansfield Park, by Jane Austen,

sets the leading lady, Fanny Price, in this story, in a poor setting with a struggling family that has to send the child out to relatives to work. This young girl becomes a nanny to children of some odd relatives. During this transition, she becomes a lovely lady of class and refinement. One of my favorite reads!

“Do not let us be frightened from a good deed by a trifle. Give a girl an education, and introduce her properly into the world, and ten to one but she has the means of settling well, without farther expense to anybody.” Mrs. Norris, Chapter 1

Sense & Sensibility, by Jane Austen, is a twisty comedy that will keep you on the edge of your seat. A love story of epic proportion, a crazed family, love revenge, and a happy ending. This novel is perplexing and this age-old story of love and revenge can rival any story!

Emma, by Charlotte Bronte', is a coming of age story with friendship, jealousy, and love. Emma is a strong character that you will love to cheer on! A real girl power read!

“I always deserve the best treatment because I never put up with any other.”
― Jane Austen, Emma

Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte', who was a wonderful writer, basically wrote this book about herself. The main character is orphaned and sent to be a governess to children of high society parents. The story takes Jane from a child to an adult. This is a wonderful novel. A novel which I often revisit!

“Some of the best people that ever lived have been as destitute as I am; and if you are a Christian, you ought not to consider poverty a crime.”--Charlotte Bronte'

Gone With The Wind, by Margaret Mitchell, is set in Atlanta, Georgia, during the turmoil of the Civil War, in the United States of America. The story is riddled with heartache, struggle, triumph, and friendship!

Rhett Butler: "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."

Wuthering Heights, by Emily Bronte', was the one and only book that she ever wrote. Amazing characters and a book worth reading! I love it!

If you are not into books, grab your fella and watch one of these books in movie form! They will all sweep you away to another place and time.

Happy Valentine's Day, Friends!
