Happy Thanksgiving USA!

Hi Sweet Friends!
This week we celebrate Thanksgiving in the United States of America! It is an important Holiday for most Americans and it's about celebrating with family & friends, eating good foods and catching up on all the news.
We traditionally lay out a beautiful table with the Antique Table Linens, the Antique Dinnerware & Silverware, and the heritage Silver Tea and Coffee Pot. A classic setting for the Thanksgiving Dinner with Friends & Family.

But how much do you know about the story of the First Thanksgiving and why we, Americans, celebrate it?

First, we celebrate this American Holiday on the fourth Thursday in the month of November. An original "Harvest Festival" celebrated in 1621 by the Plymouth Pilgrims and the local Indians of the Wampanoags' who lived in the region for over 10,000 years.

According to Edward Winslow, one of the attendees of the First Thanksgiving, there were 90 Indians and 53 Pilgrims who feasted for three days with foods brought in from the first vegetable harvest of 1621. The tradition of Thanksgiving Meals was to give thanks and praise to God for harvests, for winning military victories, and for the end of a drought. The Wampanoag leader, Massasoit, brought food to help the Pilgrims get through the coming winter.

The practice of sharing a food, expressing gratitude, and coming together was a regular part of European life and became a routine part of Early American life as far back as 1601. (reworded from Wikipedia)
